He is the founder of Project Liberty, a $500 million initiative building tools to give people more agency over their digital lives. Project Liberty also includes the Project Liberty Institute, launched with founding partners Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, and ETH in Zurich, to advance research, bring together technologists and social scientists, and develop a governance model for the internet’s next era.

A proud Georgetown alumnus, Frank has served on its Board of Directors for many years and in 2013 made a $100 million founding investment to create the McCourt School of Public Policy. In 2021, he expanded that commitment with another $100 million gift to build an inclusive leadership pipeline and set the school on a path to becoming tuition-free.
