Nidhal Jegham is a Research Engineer at the Sustainable AI Group (SAIG), where he runs the firm's empirical AI model testing program and develops statistically defensible methodologies to extend this work to proprietary frontier models. His work focuses on estimating the actual energy consumption of these models, including LLMs and video generation models. He is also a graduate student in Statistics at the University of Rhode Island. His work aims to make AI's environmental impact measurable and transparent for researchers, companies, and policymakers.
