Colin Murdoch is Chief Business Officer of Google DeepMind, working to bring the benefits of groundbreaking AI research to businesses and people around the world.

Originally an electronics and software engineer, Colin brings decades of experience in business strategy - from creating and scaling start-ups to tackling mission-critical, real-world challenges at global companies such as Thomson Reuters.

Driven by a passion for bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world impact, Colin works across Google DeepMind to grow teams and support the responsible development and delivery of products for both external customers and Alphabet’s own consumer offerings.

Since joining in 2015, Colin has played a leading role in key collaborations between Google DeepMind and Alphabet and he was instrumental in the creation of Isomorphic Labs, which was successfully launched from Google DeepMind in 2021 with a remit of using AI to develop new treatments for devastating diseases.
