Brief Biography
Yoonho Kim is a postdoctoral researcher working on medical robotics at MIT. He earned his B.S. degree from Seoul National University in 2013 and S.M. and Ph.D. degrees from MIT in 2018 and 2022, respectively, all in mechanical engineering. He invented a thread-like robot that glides through the narrow and winding pathways of the brain’s blood vessels to save stroke patients. His work has been recognized with the 2019 Materials Research Society Graduate Student Gold Award, 2020-2021 MIT-MathWorks Fellowship, and inclusion in the Graduate Finalist of 2020 Collegiate Inventors Competition and the MIT Technology Review’s 35 Innovators under 35 of 2022.
