Brief Biography
Nicole Carignan has 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, networks, computer science and IT supporting numerous private and public institutions in cybersecurity solutions and analysis. She has 20 years of federal USG experience. Her expertise in Cyber Threat Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Defense in Depth Solutions, Operations Engineering, and Network Security products gives her insight into technology, tools, and techniques for unique solutions. She likes to take on hard problems, analyze data sets, and derive solutions or innovative plans. She enjoys supporting speaking engagements and enthusiastically sharing or collaborating on cyber solutions.

Recently, Nicole joined Darktrace as the VP of Strategic Cyber AI on the Subject Matter Expert team.

Previously, Nicole was the Head of North America Operations and Customer Success for CounterCraft Security. CounterCraft's Customer Success Team is akin to Operations Engineering and Post-Sales Operations at other companies. She led deception campaign architecture, deployment, customization for objectives, deliverables, and actionable threat intelligence analysis for CounterCraft customers. Nicole also served as the Product Manager of The Service, CounterCraft's professional services offering. She built the business plan and concept of operations for bringing an end-to-end deception solution service offering for customers as well as pitched additional opportunities for new revenue streams.

Nicole was the Senior Cyber Security Threat Architect for Intrusion, Inc. and their network security product, Shield. She is an expert at network security and intelligence analysis as well as extensive experience in mining multi-terabyte threat intelligence datasets to produce actionable intelligence to protect customers. Nicole led innovative requirements for the machine learning and artificial intelligence efforts to identify malicious network activity, profile reputations of the domain/IP space, and establish rules to provide a safer internet environment.

As a senior member of the Intelligence Analysis team, she has participated in the development of techniques and methodologies to capture, parse, fuse, and display large volumes of data, identify anomalous patterns, and investigate suspicious network activity.

Prior to these roles, Nicole served in multiple Engineering Operations roles for the Intelligence Community and DoD.
