Mike Spisak is the Managing Director for Proactive Security at Palo Alto Networks. Mike leads the innovation and execution of proactive cybersecurity solutions for Unit 42, ensuring that Unit 42 clients and Palo Alto Networks customers are prepared to proactively examine and manage their cybersecurity risk. He is an expert on artificial intelligence, cloud, and zero trust security. He is a frequent speaker at conferences, education sessions, and workshops including RSA, RiskWorld, ATLSECCON (Halifax), IBM InterConnect and Universities (e.g. Southern University at New Orleans, etc.).

He has pioneered innovative solutions throughout his nearly three-decade career, while embracing key transformations such as AI, agile, mobile, and cloud. He gained widespread recognition in 2017 for his creation of a voice assistant for IBM Watson with his son, Evan.

At IBM, Mike Spisak was a Distinguished Engineer and Architect in IBM’s Security Business Unit. Mike served as the Zero Trust Technology Leader focused on setting strategic technical direction, driving thought leadership, and accelerating innovative security solutions. He was an IBM Master inventor and has over 40 patents and published papers.
