Lakshmi Hanspal is the Global Chief Security Officer (CSO) at Box. She has more than 20 years of experience in physical and information security, risk management, and privacy, in addition to 16+ years in the financial and payments space. In her role, she’s responsible for Box's cybersecurity practice, security operations, and data and platform protection. She is part of the executive team of Box's Trust Office with accountability for corporate, customer, product security, compliance, data protection, and risk management. Prior to joining Box, Lakshmi served as Chief Security Officer at SAP Ariba and was the senior leader for Information Security and Risk at PayPal. Before that, she spent 10 years at the Bank of America as a Senior Vice President as the Chief Information Security Strategist. Lakshmi advises several Silicon Valley start-ups and serves on the advisory boards of numerous cloud companies. She is also passionate about engaging and promoting women in technology and developing the next generation pipeline of female talent within teams. She graduated from Boston University with a Masters in Computer Science.
