Mike Blandina is a Managing Director and Global Head of Payments Technology. Based in Tampa, he joined J.P. Morgan in May 2020.
Prior to joining the firm, Mike served as the Chief Executive Officer at Bakkt, the digital assets trading and payments platform that is majority-owned by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). As CEO, Mike was responsible for strategic direction, payment products and markets, as well as overseeing the regulatory and financial performance of the company. Bakkt launched the first physically delivered Bitcoin in 2019.
With over 30 years of experience and a broad background and expertise in the payments industry, Mike has led product, technology, and operations at a wide range of companies including Onemarket (IPO), Westfield, PayPal, Google, TxVia (acquired by Google), Blackhawk Network (IPO), American Express and First Data Corporation.
Mike is also a Veteran who served four years in the United States Army.
