Alison Beard is a senior editor at Harvard Business Review. She focuses on leadership, organizational behavior, and self-management content across its platforms and oversees the Experience section of the magazine, as well as its How I Did It and Defend Your Research departments. She is the cohost of two of HBR’s podcasts, the HBR IdeaCast, a Q&A with a management expert, and Dear HBR:, a workplace dilemma advice show. Beard was previously a reporter and editor for the Financial Times in both New York and London. She was named to Folio:’s 2019 Class of Top Women in Media and earned a BA in journalism and politics from Washington and Lee University.
