Aubrey Simonson is a recent (September 2021) graduate of the MIT Media Lab Fluid Interfaces Group. His research is focused on virtual reality. He is primarily interested in the underlying bones of how we interact with virtual environments, such as how we move around, grab things, carry them, or talk to other people. Secondarily, he looks at applications for virtual reality, especially in the space of digital humanities and guerilla historical preservation, and what impacts, both intentional and unintentional, it may have on society.
