Alma Katsu's novels have been nominated for the Stoker, Locus, and have won Spain's Kelvin 505 for best scifi/fantasy/horror novel; but outside of the world of literature, she is better known for her work in the intelligence community on emerging technologies. During her 34-year career with CIA, NSA, and the RAND Corporation, she has led investigations into the application of data analytics for intelligence work, served as the director of a DoD research lab, and led technology forecasting efforts. She currently advises government and commercial entities on the impacts of emerging trends and technologies on intelligence work.
