Brief Biography
Stefan Jockusch is Vice President of Strategy for Siemens Digital Industries Software. In this role, he is responsible for driving strategic projects, business planning, market and competitive intelligence, and strategic ecosystem – and passionate about helping Siemens’ customers transform their business through digitalization.
Stefan has served in a number of business leadership and R&D management roles, driving the development and market introduction of radically innovative mechatronic systems, building and growing cross-functional and multinational teams, fostering partnerships with suppliers, building a strong patent portfolio, and improving business performance.
Prior to his current assignment, he was vice president of Automotive Industry Strategy, leading the company’s strategy definition, business development, and portfolio planning efforts for the automotive industry. Before that he served as vice president of Mechatronics Product Development.
Stefan came to Digital Industries Software from Dematic Corporation, where he was vice president of Research and Development, leading the renewal of the entire portfolio of material handling products, hardware and system software, resulting in over 50 patents. Prior to that, he built the solution business for Siemens’ Electronics Assembly division, introducing the first seamlessly integrated electronics manufacturing lines.
Stefan began his career at Siemens as a management consultant with Siemens Corporate Technology. He later moved to Siemens headquarters as executive board advisor for the industry, transportation and technology sectors, where he managed several strategic initiatives.
A dual citizen of the US and Germany with broad international experience, he relocated to the United States in 2001 on a long-term delegation and later decided to make the US his family’s permanent home. He holds a PhD summa cum laude in natural sciences from University of Bielefeld and a master’s degree in physics from the University of Göttingen and serves on the Engineering Advisory Board of Grand Valley State University as well as the board of the Digital Enterprise Society.
