Brief Biography
As Head of Technology Innovation Enablement at JPMorgan Chase, Rob Matles works closely with all lines of businesses, technology teams, and innovation leaders across the firm. In this role, he works to further advance our firm-wide innovation strategy and provides the tools and processes to engage and inspire all employees to innovate.

Rob oversees the firm’s growing Intellectual Property Portfolio, which currently includes over 1100 patents. He is also responsible for the Future Lab for Applied Research and Engineering (FLARE) program which develops next-generation solutions for the firm’s clients and businesses by generating new discoveries and inventions through applied research of frontier technology.

Having served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, Rob is the Executive Sponsor for Chicago’s JPMC Veteran Business Resource Group. Rob is also on the Board of Directors for 1871 – a Chicago based non-profit that supports early stage, growth stage, and corporate innovators building extraordinary businesses, from idea to Fortune 50.

Throughout his 19-year career at JP Morgan Chase, Rob has served in a variety of senior roles including Head of Wholesale Client Service and Implementation Technology, and Head of Commercial Card Technology.

Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase, Rob was a Senior Manager at Accenture.

Rob lives in Glenview, Illinois with his wife, Lauren, 17-year-old son, Jake, and 15-year-old daughter, Jordyn. In his free time, he likes to work out, barbecue, golf, fish, and spend time with his family.
